We offer compassionate, dignified support for adults over 18 living with a wide range of specialist conditions.

Including dementia, sensory impairment, motor neurone disease, multiple sclerosis and other complex health needs. Going beyond standard levels of training, our experienced carers work closely with multi-disciplinary teams to provide care tailored to your unique needs.

 

How specialist care can help

Live-in care

One-to-one, 24-hour support in your own home, on your own terms, giving you full control over your lifestyle, routine and preferences.

Mobility support

We will work with you and other professionals that support to help you stay as active and mobile as possible – giving you more independence at home and confidence when out on social visits.

Medication assistance

Our carers are trained to ensure your medications are managed safely and reliably, liaising with GPs to ensure smooth transition should your medication needs change.

Personal care

Supporting you with your health and wellbeing needs such as washing, skincare and oral health as well as assistance with dressing and getting prepared for the day.

What is classed as specialist care?

Specialist care is person-centered care that requires an additional skillset to that of a typical care package.

 

What training do the carers have?

All our carers receive the same training to ensure ‘The Flexicare Way’. We are committed to a high quality of training, delivered by our PTTLS trained ‘experts by experience’. The founder of Flexicare begins the introduction by ensuring the values and ethos of the company is clear to all the new additions to the Flexicare family. Face-to-face training in Moving and Enabling, Medication, Dementia Awareness, First Aid, Washing and Catheter care, and Palliative care is delivered by our in-house trainers, ensuring a consistently high quality of training. All carers complete the Care Certificate in full, through lifetime training to ensure a comprehensive and detailed understanding of the role of a carer. Using our market-leading, regular, easily accessible and targeted online training, keeps all skills up to date.

For clients who have complex healthcare needs, we work with other industry professionals to ensure the delivered is tailored specifically to suit your needs.

 

What professionals does Flexicare work with?

Flexicare carers have outstanding relationships with District Nursing teams, local GP clinics, Occupational Therapists, SALT teams, Physiotherapists and many others. We work closely together to put you at the centre of your care provision and enable a bespoke care plan that suits all of your needs, to create the best outcome.

 

I/my loved ones require specific healthcare training, are Flexicare carers trained in these?

Whilst Flexicare carers are not able to provide nursing tasks, by working alongside local district nursing teams, we can complement the work that nurses carry out. We are also able to structure training around your specific circumstances so that we can carry out as much of your healthcare needs as possible. Flexicare is the industry leader in the concept of ‘delegated healthcare professionals’, working to widen the scope of what a domiciliary carer can provide.

 

What if my needs change?

At Flexicare we pride ourselves on being ‘responsive’. We have a 24/7 on-call manager, who can react to emergency situations and who also has direct contact with Registered Managers to ensure seamless medication changes and that care plans are adapted accordingly. We can also assist with planning future appointments, cover short-term live-in care (if family are due to be away) and change planned schedules to adapt to any more permanent changes you require.
