At Flexicare we noticed there was a shortfall in carers specifically trained in Palliative and end of life care.
We put together a team of carers with the aim of complementing NHS community services in caring for terminally ill patients in their own homes.
Carers with the appropriate skills were asked to join the Palliative team and were given additional training to ensure they had the complete skills needed to provide the highest level of care.
We now have a compassionate and competent team who regularly undertake care of terminally ill patients and endeavour to support them and their families through an emotional journey and beyond.
We have had excellent feedback from bereaved families who state that the support of the team made a difficult and tragic time more bearable, they also said the felt supported above and beyond their expectations.
It is always are aim to provide continuity of care by allocating patients to specific carers where possible, we believe this helps to build a relationship of trust and understanding between patients , their families and our team.
We have lots of testimonials that are available for inspection at any time.
Palliative care includes:

- Liaise with district nurses for pain relief assistance
- Specialist care (Stoma care, PEG feeding, Bowel care)
- Flexicare and our team are always willing to listen, help and support in any way we can.
